TIE Bomber

The TIE Bomber is a doubled pod starfighter, dedicated to bombing targets both in space and on planets. Two ordnance pods hold all of the bomber's warheads. Missiles are fired through the missile port on the ordnance pod. The ordnance pod can also be equipped with proton bombs, orbital mines or atmospherically-shielded free-falling mines.
A pair of solar panels, elongated compared to those on the TIE Fighter, collect additional energy to help propel this heavier starfighter. The TIE Bomber is equipped with a pinpoint targeting computer system. The targeting system allows it to surgically strike at targets, as opposed to the wide-area orbital bombardment that might be expected from a capital ship.
TIE Bombers are generally escorted by TIE Starfighters when making their bombing runs.
