Lt. Black is promoted to chief engineer, and, in the process of accepting the promotion, she is faced with an emergency situation in engineering, which results in warp power being offline for an hour. New engineer Ens Torre Ze'Rea reports to engineering.
Arcadia sets course for New Atlantis, a regional trading center known for its rough character, and the serpent-fishing economy centered around the nearby Cloud of Pacifica.
Cpt Lo'Ami learns that Lt Riley has been to New Atlantis in his pre-Starfleet life.
