NPCs
From USSArcadia
Non-player characters (NPC) are in-sim characters played by our regular players, or by guests. While Arcadia only has a maximum of 23 players at a time, USS Arcadia has over 800 crew. That crew is played as NPCs, when no live player is available to do a certain task. NPCs also function as “yellow-shirts” — they die so the real players don't have to.
